Skillings & Sons, Inc. The Name You Can Trust

CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF QUALITY SERVICE!

Since 1970, Skillings & Sons, Inc. has been drilling bedrock wells for many homes and businesses across Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Southern Maine. Over the past two decades we have learned how well drilling can be used for more than drinking and watering our lawns. With the rising cost of fossil fuels and the impact they have on the environment we offer geothermal well drilling to keep the environment green and keep green in your pocket. By utilizing the earth's natural, relatively constant temperature it allows homes and businesses the opportunity to save money, energy and the environment.

NEWS

February 2, 2010

Scott E. Wilkins and Craig Brown have recently become NATE (North American Technician Excellence) certified as Ground Source Heat Pump Loop Installers. NATE develops and promotes excellence in the installation and service of heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration equipment by recognizing high-quality industry technicians through voluntary testing and certification. NATE's certification tests represent real world working knowledge of HVAC and HVACR systems and candidates can earn installation and/or service certification in one or more specialty areas. Go to www.natex.org to learn more about NATE.

Visit our booth (739) to learn more about Geothermal Systems for heating and cooling. A Skillings & Sons, Inc. representative will be there to answer your questions, hand out literature and FREE giveaways. RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS

Our first residential Geothermal Exchange system was installed in 1986. Since then we have installed close to 100 systems for residential use ranging from a 1,200 square foot home with a single 2-ton heat pump exchange unit to a 10,000 square foot historical (retrofit) home with 8 units totaling 20-tons. Geothermal Exchange systems can be installed in all types of homes. We work very closely with HVAC contractors, designers and engineers of Geothermal Exchange systems to ensure the best product for our customers.

If you are building or remodeling a home, ask your builder/remodeler if they are familiar with Geothermal Exchange. Also consult with a reputable HVAC contractor or engineer that has experience installing geothermal heat pump exchangers before building or remodeling.

COMMERCIAL PROJECTS

Our first commercial project was started in 2006 for a nursing home. This is a standing column system consisting of 16 wells, 1,500' each in depth. Since then we have been involved with numerous geothermal projects ranging from government buildings, academic buildings, schools, businesses and private residences.

The following is a partial list of geothermal ground source systems we have installed:

  • Veterans Home - Closed loop geothermal ground source system (Tilton, NH)
  • Public Safety Facility - Standing column geothermal ground source system (Holden, Ma)
  • Nursing Home - Standing column geothermal ground source system (Boscawen, NH
  • University - Standing column geothermal ground source system (Portland, ME
  • Air Force Base - Standing column geothermal ground source system (Portsmouth, NH
  • Art Institute - Standing column geothermal ground source system (Manchester, NH
  • Trauma Center - Closed loop geothermal ground source system (Gardner, MA
  • Bank - Closed loop geothermal ground source system (Yarmouth, ME
